Noble Inns, the London-based group behind the Smokehouse concept, is set to launch a new incarnation of the format called Little Smoke in the City, MCA understands.

It is thought that the new concept could takeover from the group’s existing Bad Egg site in City Point, Moorgate, which it launched with chef Neil Rankin at the end of 2014. It is thought that Rankin recently sold his stake in the business to concentrate on his new Imbiba-backed Temper concept.

Little Smoke will be “dry-ageing selectively sourced animals before butchering, hot & cold smoking, curing & barbecuing and offering up alongside a changing selection of vegetable-based small plates”.

Earlier this year, Scott Hunter, co-founder of Noble Inns, told MCA that the company, which also operates The Pig & Butcher and The Princess of Shoreditch, alongside its two Smokehouse sites, was set for a period of consolidation.

This followed the departure of its managing director, Simon Holroyd, who left to become Bella Italia’s chief operations officer.
