MeatUp, a new British BBQ concept developed by the former owners of Raffles, the Chelsea private members club, is set to launch this summer in London’s Wandsworth, MCA has learnt.

Based around the concepts of “BBQ, Beats and Bubbles”, MeatUp will launch at 30 Old York Road, before looking at further expansion opportunities in the capital. It will include a basement bar.

The concept, which will feature live DJ and bands, is owned by Sachin Khanna, who owned Raffles and recently created and managed the former China White club in the West End, now rebranded as Libertine.

The company said that MeatUp is “the new casual dining concept, aimed fully and fantastically at the 30 year old casual dining, fun drinking socialite. Disposable income, sometimes squeezed on time but always out with friends! Those that like bubbles with their beats & BBQ”.

The menu will feature premium aged steaks, fresh Lobster, shellfish, ribs, burgers and “rotiss-chicks”.

The group has launched the concept in a smaller format but is thought will be looking for 5,000 to 6,000sq ft premises as it expands further.

It has retained Charles Benjamin Associates to seek out additional sites.
