Neds Noodle Bar has appointed Farhat Abbas, a former Subway and Warrens Bakery operator, to lead its franchise development, MCA has learnt.

Abbas, who previously ran 14 Subway outlets in London, and recently exited from a five-strong collection of Warrens, is Neds’ franchising development director.

Under the new franchised business, Neds Noodle Box Developments, a first site launched in Southampton’s Marlands Shopping Centre in April, a former Warrens site, which is being operated by a contact of Abbas.

The James Breslaw-founded group has a target of 10 this year and 100 sites in five years, both UK and international.

Abbas, who also owned and operated six EE mobile phone shops, told MCA: “I met James and was very keen to franchise what’s a very successful business.

“They wanted someone with my background running successful franchise companies, and help them run and operate stores.

“I was excited at the new opportunity, and felt there was a gap in the market for a noodle bar. Neds really nailed the concert, with great food, procedures and technology

“I came on board to help develop, market the franchise business, both here and internationally.

Abbas added: “There’s a number of opportunities we’re following up. We want to make sure we have best stores in the best locations, fulfilling dine-in, takeaway and delivery.

“Our model in to have high volume, very well-placed stores in major cities. We’re currently shortlisting the right partners.”

Neds is open to single site franchisees, multisite franchisees and development deals.
