My Cookie Dough has opened its 10th UK site, at the Intu Trafford Centre – its second in the city.

It follows hot on the heels of its recent opening at Bluewater shopping centre in Kent, last month.

Kyle Meeser, brand strategist at the dessert kiosk operator told MCA earlier this year that it was planning an opening within the Trafford Centre, as well as in Liverpool, Oxford, Newcastle and London.

He said that My Cookie Dough had at least four sites planned to open this year, with a possible fifth in the running, adding that it had “an exciting year ahead with an increase in its international store portfolio also”.

The business has expanded overseas through a franchise operation, with sites in Bahrain, Jordan and Oman.

Last year, Ricki Ghali, co-founder and commercial director told MCA that it had always had an aspiraton to be a large operator in the UK and internationally. “We want to be at 50 sites by 2020,” he said.

While its UK site are currently located in shopping centres, there is an appetite to expand onto the high street.
