Johnnie Mountain, a former chef at The Fat Duck, Zilli Fish and the Mirabelle, has acquired a former Whitbread pub and created a new restaurant called The English Pig.
Mountain acquired the Slug & Lettuce on Aldersgate Street in London for an undisclosed sum.
Cedar Dean Gilmarc acted jointly with Colliers International on behalf of the landlord.
The restaurant has already opened for business and specialises in serving Mountain’s signature dish of 21 hour slow roasted pork belly.
