Richoux Group, the AIM-listed restaurant operator, has announced that Simon Morgan, of Olswang, is to replace Philip Shotter as non-executive chairman.

Shotter, who has been in the role since 2008, will resign with immediate effect, the group said in a statement this morning.

Morgan is also a director of 34 Boscombe Road Freehold Ltd and New Notes & Noises Limited.

Jonathan Kaye, formerly of Prezzo, took on the role of chief executive of the group – which operates its eponymous brand as well as Dean’s Diner and Villagio – in October and since added to the management team.

At the end of last year the group raised £1.7m through new share placings and began to consolidate the Dean’s Diner estate.

Earlier this month, MCA reported that Richoux had begun a trial of a new Italian restaurant format called Zintino.
