The Union Square Hospitality Group, the company founded by Danny Meyer, is to launch a new Italian restaurant in Ian Schrager’s Gramercy Park hotel in New York.
The new restaurant to be located inside the luxury property in lower Manhattan is scheduled to open in autumn 2009.
Meyer will also be responsible for running all of the hotel’s food and beverage operations including room service and private events.
Schrager said: “I am elated to have Danny Meyer create a signature restaurant at the Gramercy Park Hotel. I consider him one of the best restaurateurs in the world and have always wanted to do a project with him.”
The company also operates other restaurant concepts in the US including Union Square Café, Gramercy Tavern, Eleven Madison Park, Tabla, Blue Smoke/Jazz Standard, The Modern and Shake Shack.
