Alex Meyer has stepped down as marketing director at Wagamama, the Duke Street Capital-backed chain, to join Giraffe, MCA has learnt.

Meyer, who spent a year and a half at Wagamama, joins Giraffe as interim marketing director, with Amy Cornwell, the group’s commercial and marketing director going on maternity leave.

Based on a reshuffle of Wagamama’s head office team, the company has decided not to replace Meyer’s role.

Before joining Wagamama, Meyer spent nine years at Mitchells & Butlers, including three years as head of brand marketing across the company’s Toby Carvery, Harvester, Crown Carvery and Miller & Carter steakhouse brands.
