Burger concept Meatliquor has announced it will be permanently closing its Kings Cross site as the country enters a second lockdown this week.

The brand said it will run its final service at the site until 10pm on Wednesday (4 November), before closing the doors for good.

“Your loyalty and custom has meant the world to us and we hope to see as many of you as possible for a farewell Dead Hippie before we close our doors for the last time,” it said to customers on Twitter.

“We’ve loved every minute of the last 3 (and a bit) years and fully intent to make the most of our last few days of trade. Let’s raise our Grogs and give Meatliquor Kings Cross the send-off she deserves.

“This may be it for St. Chad’s Place but there’s new things on the horizon so keep your eyes peeled.”

The 11-strong brand was one of the first to relaunch its delivery operations during the first lockdown, reopening its East Dulwich site in April, and has since reopened its entire dine-in estate from July.
