McDonald’s has announced it is to relaunch its in-store takeaway and click-and-collect offering from next week.

Starting next Wednesday (17 June), the business will reopen just eleven of its Roadchef restaurants, as it looks to gradually roll out to high streets, towns and city centres from 24 June.

Alongside the move, it will also relaunch its breakfast range from the 24 June in a small number of restaurants, with plans to reintroduce the offer to the rest of the estate in July.

On top of safety measures already implemented for its open drive-thru and delivery restaurants, the reopened sites will introduce a number of controls to ensure a covid-secure environment.

Signposting and floor markings will be used to create a one-way system for customers and delivery drivers, each restaurant will operate on a maximum capacity rule, and sanitation will be increased –order screens will be sanitised every 30 minutes and customers will be asked to sanitise their hands upon entry.

Seating areas, toilets and children’s play areas will remain closed.

Having already reopened over 1,000 restaurants over the last few weeks, from 11am today the business is also relaunching delivery from a further 570 sites across the UK and Ireland.
