Mayfair’s Lebanese restaurant Lazeez Tapas has become the latest operator to confirm it will open a unit at Boxpark in Croydon this summer.

Lazeez Boxpark will be a scaled down version of the original Lazeez Tapas on London’s Duke Street, offering a ‘simple Downtown Beirut menu’ which will include salads, tapas and wraps, fresh juices and Lebanese beer and wine.

Lazeez Tapas CEO Emilio Malik told MCA’s sister title BigHospitality he’d been approached by Boxpark’s directors about opening in its new location and said it was too good an opportunity to pass up.

“It will be great to open in East Croydon. We do a lot of lunch business and our healthy menu is popular with office workers, so we think it will go down well in Croydon.”

Malik said, as with Mayfair, staff at Boxpark Lazeez would prepare food fresh to order with meat marinated twice daily on-site and hummus made throughout the day. The new site will also offer local delivery through Deliveroo.

When it opens next to East Croydon station this summer Boxpark Croydon will host 80 food and drink outlets within former shipping containers.

Confirmed businesses so far include vegan restaurant CookDaily, which has a site at Boxpark Shoreditch, Craft Beer Co, MeatLiquor and pizza outlet Voodoo Rays. Model Kate Moss’s brother Nick Moss is also thought to be opening his first permanent version of this Vietnamese street food concept.
