Mas Q Menos, the jamón and tapas bar concept, has the potential to grow to 90 sites in the UK, property director Igor Matrosov told MCA.

The concept, which operates 25 sites in Spain, has just opened its fourth UK outlet, after securing a 1,600 sq ft site on Holborn Viaduct, through Restaurant Property. It followed sites in Soho, Farringdon and Fenchurch, which are all operated through a joint venture between the parent company and external investors.

Matrosov said he was in legals on more than one site in London to open next year and that the first two locatiosn for Mas Q Menos in France had been identified, both in Paris.

He said the group would focus on building its profile in London before rolling out across the rest of the UK but said ultimately the aim was to have a presence across the country.

He told MCA: “We think the offer of authentic Spanish food and drink is very attractive to people and that we have a good price point.

“There is still a lot of potential in London but are already looking at places like Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Brighton.”
