Mitchells & Butlers (M&B), the managed pub operator, has launched an iPhone app that will show the location of its Vintage Inns country pub/restaurants.
The free app, which is available to download from iTunes, will let users search an area for pubs, or use the phone's satellite technology to find the nearest of the 221 inns.
Joanne Kay, senior marketing manager for Vintage Inns, commented: “Finding somewhere good to eat can be a hassle when you’re out and about in the countryside or planning a day trip away from home. You can drive around but sometimes you want to go straight to somewhere you know there will be a warm welcome, a plate of hearty pub food and a glass of well-chosen wine waiting for you. This was our ambition when developing our iPhone app.
“We wanted to create a mobile facility that makes it easy for our customers to find their nearest Vintage Inn and book a table. The app gives diners mobile access to the largest choice of country pubs from a single brand. Wherever they are in the country we have a table waiting for them just around the corner.”
