An American customer has launched a lawsuit against Burger King, the fast-food chain, claiming he suffered physical disability after biting into a hot chicken burger. Frank Chancellor from Greenville, South Carolina, says the burger he bought from Burger King was so hot it scalded his mouth. His lawsuit claims the company should give customers fair warning about the temperature of its foods. It also claims the alleged scalding incident caused symptoms ranging from pain and suffering to physical disability. The amount of his claim is as yet unknown. Jim DeMint, a South Carolina congressman, said the United States needs a law to stop this kind of suit being taken. DeMint has already voted for the bill against frivolous lawsuits when customers make claims of obesity or weight gain against fast-food restaurants.
