Mac & Wild, the Scottish game and seafood concept, has announced that its winter pop-up in the City is to turn permanent.
Following a five-month pop-up, the collaboration between Andy Waugh from Wild Game Co and Calum Mackinnon from Amicus Apple, which made its debut in Fitzrovia last year, has taken over the 4,000sq ft Devonshire Square site on a permanent basis.
The site features a 100-cover restaurant, a covered craft beer bar, gun room with virtual shooting simulator outside, and an array of highland inspired experiences.
The lower ground floor bar will become the home of Kaleidoscope, a new whisky bar from Mac & Wild’s friends at The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, which launches on 31 May.
The group is also in talks to take a site at the Westfield London extension in Shepherd’s Bush.
Waugh’s family runs a butchery business near Inverness, which supplies the meat and game caught locally; he hopes to use the restaurants as a means to highlight the produce of the area and encourage Londoners to visit the Highlands for fishing or shooting breaks.
