Lunya, the Liverpool-based Catalonian-style restaurant, bar and deli, is launching a smaller-format sister site, Lunyalita, at Albert Dock.

The 3000 sq ft site, will include a ground floor café, bar and deli with a central island bar and open kitchen, with a more formal restaurant with private dining for 50 upstairs.

News of the second Liverpool site comes after Lunya relocated from its original home of seven years to Liverpool ONE in October of last year.

Owners Elaine and Peter Kinsella, who also operate a Lunya in Manchester, said: “Our move to Hanover Street has seen our sales in Liverpool shoot up by more than 25% since our move and we are confident of the demand continuing – our customers have told us so.

“We have often thought about giving birth to a ‘baby Lunya’ compared with our first two - Lunya Manchester and Liverpool are both more than 5000sq ft.

“We were made aware of a perfect opportunity at Albert Dock with space of 3000 sq ft available to develop our idea and we’re keen to show that Lunya can work in different formats.

Lunyalita will have 150 year old paving stones, vaulted ceilings and a sun terrace.
