Cote, the French brasserie concept, has continued with its expansion plans by taking on the site of the former Percento Restaurant on Ludgate Hill, near St Paul's Cathedral, which will mark the group's 15th unit. The company, which plans to operate a 20-strong estate by the end of the year, will open a 200-plus covers site that forms part of the Club Quarters Hotel. The group has been granted a new and enlarged outside seating area by the landlord. The site will open later this month. DCL brokered the deal. M&C Report revealed earlier this year that Cote had built its property pipeline out to 20 sites, with all of its secured locations set to open by the end of the year. The business, which is operated by the former Strada management team and backed by Richard Caring, opened its 14 site in July in Brighton, and plans further openings in Farnham this month, and in Ealing and Highgate both in early September. A Cote will also open in Bristol before the end of the year, taking the chain to 19 restaurants. The group is also at various stages on a further three sites - both within central London and in other towns and cities - and expects to open at least one of these before 2011.
