Locale, the Italian neighbourhood restaurant group set up by the Henry J Beans founders, has placed two of its sites on the market, M&C Report has learnt.

The London-based company has placed the two former sites it acquired from the Ferrari’s chain in 2009 in Balham and Bromley on the market with offers of around £225k believed to be sought for each.

Locale, which was set up in 2005 by Douglas Smillie and Mark Elphicke, the former managing director and operations director of Henry J Beans, together with Mark Evans, former operations director of Bodean’s, rebranded the 100-cover Ferrari’s Balham outlet and reopened it as its fifth Locale in May 2009.

It still operates four Locale sites in Blackheath, County Hall, East Dulwich and Fulham.

The two sites are being marketed by Cedar Dean Gilmarc.
