Leon has opened its first Spanish restaurant, at Gran Canaria Airport, and its largest to date with more than 200 covers.
The flagship site is the first to open as part of its partnership with Autogrill Group. It joins Leon’s other international restaurants in Amsterdam, Utrecht and Oslo.
John Vincent, Leon CEO and co-founder, says, “Airports are one of the places where people still struggle to eat well. Choices are limited, quality is often dubious, and traditional fast food still reigns.
“We want to open Leons in places where people need us most, and we’re excited to be in Gran Canaria with our biggest ever restaurant. It’s a sign that the future of fast food is changing, and Gran Canaria Airport is going to be at the forefront of the fast food revolution.”
Gran Canaria has the busiest airport within the Canary Islands, serving 13 million passengers a year.
