Leon, the healthy fast food chain led by Henry Dimbleby and John Vincent, has said that its offer is “better than ever” and that its recent opening in More London is the closest it has yet come to achieving its dream of creating “fast food as it might be in heaven”.

The More London site is the first of a planned twelve openings from the group over the next year.

The new format restaurant near City hall and HMS Belfast, started its first week as one of the three highest taking sites in the group’s portfolio.

“What has always driven us is the belief that we can create fast food as it might be in heaven. This beautiful new restaurant is the closest we have yet come to achieving this dream,” said Vincent.

“Over the last year we have improved our offer. We believe our food is better than ever and we now have dishes at prices to fit all budgets. It is time to take Leon to more people.”

Since opening its first site in Carnaby Street, the company has grown steadily and currently has thirteen restaurants in London, including one at Bluewater in Kent and one in Heathrow’s Terminal 3.

It has further openings lined up before the end of the year in Victoria and Holborn It plans to open a further 10 sites in 2014, including more in transport hubs.

It has secured further sites at the redeveloped East Midland Airport and the Eurotunnel terminal building in Folkestone.

The group is also in talks with Brad Blum, the former Burger King chief executive who joined Leon’s board last year, about expansion to the US.
