Leelex, the northeast based bar and restaurant group, has confirmed details of its sixth site – a Spanish restaurant called Pintura in Leeds.

The tapas restaurant will open at the end of February next door to Marks and Spencer adjacent to Trinity Leeds.

Leelex, which currently operates Cielo Blanco, Oporto and Jake’s Bar in Leeds as well as Portobello Star in London - which incorporates the Ginstitute, will focus its newest venue on Spanish Basque-inspired tapas.

The 3,000sq ft restaurant will serve bold, high-quality tapas dishes and Basque region speciality Pintxo starting at £3 a plate. These will include fresh salted cod, Iberico ham, octopus and pig’s cheek.

Serving over 130 diners, the bar and kitchen boasts vibrant décor evoking the feeling of San Sebastiàn and an intimate outdoor seating area. Guests can choose to sit at a table or at the stylish bar making it the perfect place to visit, whether it be for a sociable meal to share with friends, a special occasion with loved-ones, a quick bite to eat or an al fresco breakfast meeting.

The kitchen and bar which is split across three spacious floors will be home to a dedicated gin bar serving over 30 varieties of gin including the restaurant’s own brand Portobello Road that is created at its London distillery at the Portobello Road Ginstitute.
