Le Bistrot Pierre, the highly-regarded French restaurant chain, has secured its second site in Devon, and 12th overall, in Torquay, M&C Report understands.

The group, which recently secured a site in Cardiff’s Brewery quarter for an opening near the end of November, will open within the new £2m landmark development Abbey Sands, on Torquay’s seafront, next spring/summer.

The key promenade site, once the site of the town’s Palm Court Hotel, follows the company’s successful opening in Plymouth’s Royal William Yard last Easter, which confirmed the group’s national expansion plans.

“Abbey Sands is going to be a very striking addition to the Torquay seafront,” said Rob Beacham, co-founder Le Bistrot Pierre, “it will be a landmark building for Torbay and we are delighted to be part of such a prestigious scheme.

“The Le Bistrot Pierre approach to dining is relaxed and welcoming. Each of our bistrots is styled a little differently to complement the building it is in but, whilst our look changes between each bistrot, customers can expect the same personal, attentive service and high quality simple French cookery to enjoy every day.”

The company launched a repositioning and rejuvenation of its brand at its site in Plymouth as it looks to appeal to a national market. It is also targeting further openings in Leeds, Bristol, Taunton and Manchester.
