Le Bistrot Pierre, the highly-rated French restaurant chain, has signed up to open a site at the Friars Walk development in Newport.
The 12-strong group, which is led by Robert Beacham and John Whithead, will join Nando’s, GBK, Cosmo, Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito at the c390,000sq ft scheme that is anchored by an eight-screen Cineworld and opens next November.
The group opened its latest site in Torquay in September.
Last year, the company secured £4m of funding through Natwest to double its presence over the next four years and is believed to be looking for sites in Bath, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Milton Keynes, Bristol and Taunton.
Earlier this week, it launched a new Petit Pre Theatre menu in its sites in Stratford, Leamington, Derby, Harrogate, Sheffield and Ilkley, which offers two courses for £11.95.
