Casual Dining Group (CDG) is bringing Las Iguanas and Bella Italia to Center Parcs holiday villages, MCA has learnt.

Both brands will open at Center Parcs Longleat Forest with a further Bella Italia restaurant to be introduced at Center Parcs Sherwood Forest. It marks Las Iguanas entry into the concessions market.

Sherwood Forest will also have a Bella Italia gelato café and cart, offering drinks and desserts, with customers able to choose scoops, flavours and toppings.

Meanwhile Hawtons Bar & Restaurant, a standalone concept which CDG opened at Center Parcs Longleat Forest in 2013, will be replaced with a Café Rouge.

The Steve Richards-led CDG has a long-standing relationship with Center Parcs under its previous incarnation Tragus, with Café Rouge operating at its holiday villages for at least ten years.

Center Parcs UK was bought last year by Canadian investment group Brookfield in a deal reported to be worth more than £2.4bn.

It was previously owned by US private equity firm Blackstone, which also used to own Tragus before it was restructured and renamed CDG by US private equity group Apollo.

Despite uncertainty in the marketplace, CDG group is continuing to expand, with 55 Las Iguanas restaurants now operating, sites in Braintree, Bournemouth and Chelmsford lined up to open by the end of the year, and 20 sites a year planned for the brand in the next two years.

Bella Italia is expanding on its 112 sites with CDG last month announcing a franchise deal in Saudi Arabia which will see 18 Bella Italia sites open in the country over the next four years.

Mark Nelson, CDG’s director of concessions, franchising and international development said: “I’m particularly excited about introducing Las Iguanas to Center Parcs – it’s the brand’s first concession and the perfect match for Center Parcs’ visitors.”

Eddie McAdam, group food and beverage/retail manager adds: “We are really excited to be welcoming the Bella and Las Iguanas brands and the new Gelato Café to Center Parcs. These exciting brands will enable us to continue to deliver excellent dining experiences to Center Parcs’ guests.”
