Las Iguanas, the Latin American-themed restaurant chain, has appointed a new finance director. Kieran Pollock, previously finance director at Crown Golf, will join the business in May. It is thought he will join as an investing director, having committed an undisclosed personal sum to the business in return for an equity stake in the group. Pollock, 40, who has been with Crown Golf – the largest independent operator of golf courses in the UK – since 2003, told M&C: “I was looking for a new challenge and what really struck me about Las Iguanas was the strength of the brand, and the people. It’s a very exciting opportunity.” He joins the business following its £27m refinancing with Bowmark Capital, the mid-market private equity firm, last year. Currently the bar-restaurant chain has 16 sites across the UK, including London's Royal Festival Hall in London, the Trafford Centre in Manchester and the Harbourside in Birmingham. Following the Bowmark buyout, the management team announced plans to expand its number of outlets to at least 45 outlets.
