La Tasca has opened its 25 th outlet, in Reading, on a site where the father of the company’s CEO, James Horler, once worked as a cashier for Barclays.

Horler said: “I was also born in the town where my father worked. So when I had the chance to purchase the building for the restaurant, I leapt at the opportunity it felt right.”

The 200-seat La Tasca is on St Mary’s Butt’s in Reading.

The company is planning to open sites in Bath, Basingstoke and Edinburgh by the end of the year. Between 10 and 12 sites are planned for next year, taking the business up to almost 40 sites.
