Jamie’s Italian, the casual dining chain, has opened its first site in the UK in 2013, in Aberdeen. The chain, which operates 30 sites in the UK, has opened in the former Esslemont and Macintosh department store unit in the centre of the Granite City for its third opening in Scotland. The group is also set to open in Greenwich and Newcastle this year, as it looks to concentrate on its international expansion. It recently signed agreements to open its first sites in Russia and Turkey later this year. It has so far also signed agreements to open sites internationally in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, China, Ukraine, Ireland and the Middle East, with further locations currently under negotiation, including the US and Canada.
