Jamie’s Italian, which is currently assessing its options, is lining up a further opening in London in Ludgate, M&C understands.

It is thought that the group, which will open its next site in Victoria, has agreed to open a site at Land Securities New Ludgate development that is set to come on line later this year.

Jamie’s Italian currently operates 37 sites under its core brand in the UK and c15 overseas. It is thought the company will only operate up to 45 sites under the core brand in the UK.

M&C revealed earlier this year that Oliver was exploring options regarding his restaurant business, which includes the Jamie’s Italian chain and Barbecoa, which could result in a sale of a stake in the business that is valued at £200m.

The high-profile chef, who launched Jamie’s Italian in Oxford in 2008, is understood to have appointed the Royal Bank of Canada to oversee the process, which is set generate a high level of interest from private equity and investment funds.

The group is set to further strengthen its global presence with new openings in Indonesia, Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore over the summer.

Earlier this year, the company signed a deal with Italian company Food Concepts to ramp up its presence in Europe, setting its sights on Belgium, Holland and Germany. The first site under the franchise deal will open in the Markthal in Rotterdam this autumn.
