Jamie’s Italian, the restaurant group spearheaded by Jamie Oliver, has confirmed it will open a further flagship site in central London, near London Bridge.

As revealed by M&C Report last month, the group, which operates 35 sites under its core brand in the UK, has secured a 6,000sq ft unit under the Hilton Hotel in More London, for an opening this spring.

Further UK expansion plans for Jamie’s Italian are to be limited this year, with the group focusing on its international rollout and the growth of its current two-strong Trattoria format.

It is thought that Jamie’s Italian will only open a maximum of nine further sites under its core brand in the UK. The group will eventually operate 42-44 restaurants under its core brand in the UK, with a site in London’s Victoria, at Land Securities Kings Gate scheme already secured.

It currently operates two sites under its Trattoria format in Richmond and Chelmsford, with a third lined up for Tunbridge Wells.

The new flagship site at More London will be split over ground floor level of the Hilton Hotel.

Acting on behalf of Hilton Hotels, Nick Weir at Shelley Sandzer, said: “We are very pleased to have secured Jamie’s Italian a brand new London site in a prime location. On behalf of our client, Hilton Hotels, and following their brief we negotiated a strong deal for this site and presented them with a quality tenant for the space.”
