High profile chef Jamie Oliver has announced the opening of his second site in Hong Kong eight months after he launched his first Jamie’s Italian.

Oliver is working with Honk Kong company Big Cat Group, which owns the franchise to the restaurant in Hong Kong, to open in late May or early June according to the South China Morning Post.

Speaking about the launch he said he wanted to open restaurants at a “speed that’s appropriate” and is not planning global domination.

There are 51 branches of the restaurant worldwide, with 37 in the UK, as well as Dubai, Australia, Sweden and Turkey.

Last month the company signed a deal with Italian company Food Concepts to ramp up its presence in Europe, setting its sights on Belgium, Holland and Germany. The first site under the joint venture will open in the Markthal in Rotterdam this autumn.
