Jamaica Blue is to open a concession site within clothing store Next, and hints there could be more to come, it has been reported.
According to Food Chain Magazine, the site will open within its store in the retail park at Junction 9 in Wednesbury, in April.
Mike Arbuckle, MD at parent company Foodco UK said that Next approached the business after visiting its store in Rushden Lakes, which opened in autumn 2017, “and we are looking forward to seeing if this is a concept we want to move forward with in partnership with major retailers”.
Arbuckle added that sister brand Muffin Break is looking to open a further 10 stores by the end of the year, with plans for between three and six Jamaica Blue sites.
“Our business plan is to continue to open new stores with those franchisees who meet our expectations as we head towards our medium-term target to be trading from 100 stores within the next three-to-four years,” he said.
Jamaica Blue, the Australian café franchise, currently has five sites, with its most recent opening at Northampton University last August. The concept also has cafes in Chelmsford, Cambridge and Reading.
