Individual Restaurant Company (IRC), the operator of the Piccolino and Restaurant Bar and Grill brands, is to continue the roll out of its Gino D’Acampo My Restaurant concept with an opening in Camden.

MCA understands that the concept, which already operates sites in Euston Station, Manchester and Leeds, is to take over the Q Grill site in Chalk Farm Road. IRC directors Steven Walker and Vernon Lord backed the opening of the Des McDonald-developed Q Grill concept two years ago.

IRC has further openings for the D’Acampo-led concept lined up in Liverpool and Harrogate, and is believed to be in talks on opening a site in the Next in Hull.

The 150-cover site in Camden will open this July and will include an open kitchen, deli and My Prosecco Bar with over 40 varieties of prosecco and wines available by the glass.

“I can’t wait to open My Restaurant right in the heart of trendy Camden,” said D’Acampo.

“Twenty years ago I worked as head chef at Pane Vino, in nearby Kentish Town, so it feels like I’m coming home.”

D’Acampo also runs the My Pasta Bar chain, which has three sites in London.

IRC has applied to Liverpool City Council to convert the former HSBC Bank on the corner of Dale Street and Castle Street into a restaurant under the Gino brand.

The company, which secured an additional £8m of bank facilities to support future growth last year, plans to step up the pace of new restaurant openings in 2017 under the Gino brand.

The Harrogate opening will be located on Parliament Street, at the IRC’s previous Bar and Grill location.
