Inferno Pizza, the pizza concept backed by Bakkavor, the international manufacturer of fresh prepared foods, has further strengthened its openings pipeline by securing a site in Bradford.

The group, which currently operates a site in Nottingham, has secured a site alongside Five Guys and Esquires Coffee at the Xchange development in Bradford.

It has already secured further sites in Southside, Wandsworth and in the Eldon Square scheme, Newcastle.

The concept, on which Kevin Todd, the former managing director of Mitchells & Butlers and current non-executive director of the Big Easy, is advising, is believed to have secured a site next to Pret A Manger at the Southside scheme for an opening later year.

The London-based group, which has a turnover of £1.52bn and is a major supplier to Marks & Spencer, Tesco and Waitrose, opened its first site under the “create-your-own” concept in Trinity Place, Nottingham last year.

Todd is advising Bakkavor, the international manufacturer of fresh prepared foods, on the development and expansion of its pizza concept after becoming chairman of its food services division.

The group recently said that the concept had proved successful with consumers and “we are planning on rolling out this model in the coming months”.
