3Sixty Restaurants chief executive James Horler has told MCA he plans to open six Ego in a Pub sites this year.
It follows the acquisition of the 15th Ego site – the former Vintage Inns site in Little Hoole, Lancashire, which will relaunch as Ego @ The Fox Cub towards the end of May.
Horler told MCA that the group – which is set to reach sales of £19m this year – would accelerate openings over the next three years.
He said: “This site is further evidence that the Ego in a Pub model is working very well.
“We’re in a good place - the business doesn’t have any debt, we’re expecting sales to reach £19m this year, and we’ve had like for like growth every month for last three years.
“It’s continuing to perform very well.”
The business has built a strategy of taking long leases on sites from pubcos such as Punch, Ei Group and M&B and converting them into Ego pubs, with a pan-Mediterranean food menu.
The group is currently looking for sites within 30-40 miles from existing sites, with a focus on Yorkshire, the Midlands and the North West, before branching out across the UK, looking to Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Lincolnshire.
Horler added: “Every site changes, every one is better and every one is individually designed. It’s part of the same family but it’s not cookie cutter.
“We’re getting better and better, we’re making significant strides on digital marketing bringing in whole new audience and the way we manage the business.”
