The Classified Group, previously known as the Press Room Group, the Hong Kong-based hospitality group, is to make its debut in the UK, after exchanging on a site in the heart of London Bridge, MCA understands.

The group, which operates the Classified café franchise, The Pawn, and The Fat Pig featuring chef Tom Aikens in Hong Kong, is understood to have secured a c6,000sq ft restaurant unit at the former St Thomas’s Church site for as yet-undisclosed new concept.

Planning permission is in place to adapt the church into a A3 restaurant space.

The company, which is led by Alan Lo, is believed to have been exploring opportunities in London for a while.

It currently operates 10 sites under the Classified café format.

Lo also co-owns Duddell’s, the two Michelin-starred restaurant, which is situated in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district and also features a salon, and art space.
