Honest Burgers, the Active Private Equity-backed group, is to further strengthen its presence in London, with four further sites scheduled to open before the end of the year, MCA has learnt.

The 14-strong group’s next opening will be in mid-September at 31 Paddington street, just off Baker Street. At the end of October, it will be opening up in Hammersmith on the former Meat Yard site in Fulham Palace Road.

It has also lined up openings in Dalston and Greenwich, with exact addresses to be confirmed.

The company, which plans to open five to seven sites this year, recently opened at 24 Thurloe Street in Kensington.

The group’s commercial director Harald Samuelsson, the former joint managing director of Cote, told MCA earlier this year that the company planned to open 10 sites in 2017; comprising five inside London and five outside, with locations such as Brighton, Reading, Oxford and Bristol on its radar.

Active invested £7m in the better burger concept in return for a c50% stake, which is understood to have valued the business at c£15m-16m.
