Honest Burgers, the Active Private Equity-backed, fast-growing group, has promoted Gary Mann, its chief financial officer, to the position of joint managing director, MCA has learnt.
The 24-strong company, which yesterday opened its largest site to date in Reading, said that Mann had had a huge impact on its business during the past year and would now assist co-founder Dorian Waite in preparing operations for the next growth phase of the group.
Mann’s former position will be taken by David Foulis, ex-head of Finance at D&D London.
Mann joined Honest from Gaucho Group last September. He was finance & commercial director across Gaucho and its sister brand CAU.
The company told MCA: “We are very excited somebody of David’s calibre will be joining us to head up our finance department.”
Yesterday the company opened on King Street in Reading. Its second site outside London, after opening in Cambridge earlier this year, the restaurant is its biggest site with around 90 covers.
The new site’s offer includes King Street Pale, a beer developed by the group with the local Wild Weather brewery. It also has a local burger on the menu that features the award-winning Darkham Blue cheese.
The group’s first site of 2018 will open on 22 January on the former Feng Sushi site at Royal Festival Hall. It will have 65 covers internally and 10 covers outside.
The company has also lined up an opening at London Bridge Station.
