Honest Burgers, the London-based concept led by ex-Bill’s operations director Dorian Waite, is set to open its seventh site, after securing a site in Tooting, M&C Report understands.

The group, which earlier this year secured a new funding package from Santander to aid its expansion plans in the capital, is understood to have agreed to take the Peperoncino Pizzeria unit on Totting High Street for an opening later this summer.

The funding, from Santander, which consists of traditional lending plus £500,000 of growth capital finance from the Spanish bank’s Breakthrough programme, was used to secure the group’s recent opening in Kings Cross and Market Place, plus this seventh site.

At the time of securing the new funding, Waite said: “We have tried to differentiate ourselves from our competitors by instilling a sense of independence in each of our restaurants. Accessing finance without giving up a slice of your business is quite difficult for businesses of our size.”
