Hibiscus, the two Michelin-starred London restaurant, is to close on 1 October.

The restaurant first opened in Ludlow 16 years ago before relocating to Mayfair in 2007.

Chef-patron Claude Bosi, who along with his brother Cedric acquired The Swan Inn pub in Esher, Surrey, earlier this year, said in a statement: “We want to thank our loyal and supportive customers, many of whom we are now lucky enough to call friends. We have loved being in Mayfair; it was the perfect place to open our first London restaurant all those years ago.

“This isn’t the end; we hope you will join us in the next chapter, which we are hugely excited about and will announce later this year.”

The Swan Inn, which opened in May, is located close to Sandown Racecourse and has a 55-cover restaurant area and 14-cover private dining room.

The style of the menu, overseen by Claude with head chef Justin West with whom he worked at Hibiscus, is described as ‘English food from a Frenchman’.

Cedric continues to own The Charlton Arms and the Townhouse Hotel, both in Ludlow in Shropshire.

The brothers were previously involved with The Fox and Grapes in Wimbledon and The Malt House in Fulham.
