Harry Ramsden food will be available in 70 Mecca Bingo halls across the UK, starting this week.

Mecca will also offer home delivery of Harry Ramsden in selected areas.

The tie-up is part of a new initiative from Harry Ramsden dubbed “Proudly Serving Harry Ramsden”, which is a branded menu proposition for restaurant, pub and caterers in the UK.

“Our aim is to make Harry Ramsden as accessible to as many people as possible,” said Harry Ramsden business development manager Malcolm Heslop. “To that end, we’re always looking for new and innovative ways to expand and share our menu with existing and potential diners.”

The Harry Ramsden menu offered by Mecca is scaled down compared to a typical Harry Ramsden’s restaurant, but includes cod and chips with mushy peas, scampi and chips, beef and mushroom pie with mash, peas and gravy and cod bites and chips, plus a selection of side dishes.

“With the loyal and dedicated following which bingo enjoys, Mecca is an ideal partner for us, so we’re delighted to be bringing a selection of our dishes to customers in their clubs through our ‘Proudly Serving Harry Ramsden’ concept,” added Heslop.

National food & beverage manager for Mecca Bingo, Cath Hannam, said it was “incredibly exciting to bring two iconic British brands together, merging traditions and giving our customers the opportunity to enjoy world class fish and chips whilst they play. Our teams have been working hard behind the scenes to get everything ready and we know our customers will love the partnership as much as we do.”

In January Harry Ramsden’s opened The Laughing Fish by Harry Ramsden with franchise partner Resorts World Genting Malaysia.

The pub restaurant concept, the first Harry Ramsden to open in Malaysia, is designed for tourism and leisure environments. It offers a menu of traditional British favourites, like full English breakfasts and Sunday roasts, plus a Harry Ramsden takeaway.
