Graham Hall has been promoted from operations director to managing director of CAU, the casual dining steakhouse concept and sister group to Gaucho, M&C Report understands.

Hall joined the eight-strong chain in June 2013 after nearly four years as operations director at All Star Leisure. Previous to that, he was an operations manager at Living Room for six years.

His promotion comes as the group is understood to be exploring options to add further international sites to its existing restaurant in Amsterdam.

It will open its next site in the UK next month in Wilmslow.

Earlier this year, it secured its first site in the Midlands, in Birmingham

The group secured a c3,500sq ft unit under the offices of GVA Grimley in Birmingham’s Brindleyplace for an opening later this year.

The company, which will open its first central London site at St Katharine Dock, has also secured a site with Burger & Lobster in Milsom Place, Bath.

The group plans to open six restaurants in total in the first half of this year as it looks to grow to 17 sites by the end of 2015.

It has openings lined up in Reading and Liverpool and has also secured a site in Harrogate’s Albert Street development with an opening lined for the fourth quarter of next year.

Last July, M&C reported that CAU is to make its north west debut in Liverpool in the first quarter of 2015 after securing a 5,000sq ft unit in the city’s Castle Street.
