Gaucho Group has announced the departure of Graham Hall as managing director of its casual dining brand, CAU and also revealed a senior team restructure.

The reshuffle sees Gaucho managing director, Tracey Matthews, taking on the role of chief operating officer for both brands. The company said it would begin the search for a new Gaucho managing director shortly.

Hall, who has been in the role for three and a half years, will be succeeded as CAU managing director by Richard Clark, currently operations director for the brand.

Zeev Godik, chief executive of the group, said: “We have taken this opportunity to restructure the group in order to ensure Gaucho and CAU are in the best possible position for both brands to grow and develop successfully and I am delighted to say that Tracey Matthews, currently MD at Gaucho, will have an immediate and expanded role as COO embracing both the Gaucho and CAU brands.

“We have also widened Suresh Banarse’s role to make him Global HR Director across the two brands, and we will shortly be confirming a new MD for Gaucho.”

Banarse joined Gauco in April after over eight years as people director at YO! Sushi.

Equistone completed the acquisition of CAU and sister brand Gaucho at the start of the year in a deal valued at c100m. It is believed to have secured a capex facility of £20m as part of the acquisition

It is looking to recreate the group of restaurants it is developing in the North West, by adding further units to site in Brindleyplace, Birmingham.
