The Gordon Ramsay Group (GRG) has appointed David Kerr, formerly of Home House, the private member’s club operator, as its new finance director, M&C has learnt.

Kerr joins GRG after four years with Home House and previous stints with GBK, Pizza Hut and Whitbread.

He takes over from interim finance director Simon Rowe, who joined the company in 2014 as it looked to secure new investment.

Rowe was the former group financial officer at Paramount Restaurants, who has also had stints at Be At One, Hakkasan and 5 Hertford Street, Robin Birley’s private members’ club.

Last year, the high-profile chef aborted the sale of a 50% stake in his restaurant business, which was believed to be valued at £80m.

The chef had been working with advisers at BDO to find an investor willing to help fund the expansion of the business, which operates over 20 restaurants around the world.
