The Gordan Ramsay Restaurant Group has terminated the contracts of more than 500 staff across its London restaurant portfolio.

In a letter sent to team members, the company informed employees it would pay a four-week notice period, but that there was no guarantee their jobs would be available when the sites re-open.

The move comes less than a week after chancellor Rishi Sunak announced the Government’s Jobs Retention Scheme, which offers to compensate employers for 80% of wages for furloughed employees.

The group’s London restaurants include Restaurant Gordan Ramsay, Pétrus, the Savoy Grill and Lucky Cat.
