Goodman, the upscale Russian steakhouse concept, has secured its second UK site – in the City of London. The group, which made its debut in London in December 2008 in Mayfair, has secured a vacant unit in Old Jewry Street, next door to Brown’s, the bar-restaurant concept operated by Mitchells & Butlers. The 5,000sq ft space, which is split across two floors, will be converted into a 100-cover restaurant, with a bar area comprising a further 30 covers. Shelley Sandzer’s Nathan Wogman, who brokered the deal, said that Old Jewry was an “ideal location”. Goodman has secured a lease that expires in 2032. Its restaurant in Maddox Street, Mayfair, was Goodman’s first outside of Moscow – it has nine restaurants in the Russian capital, understood to be producing annual profits of $12m.
