Giraffe, the Tesco-owned restaurant concept, has converted a third site to its Burger & Cocktails format in Brighton and would consider further conversions, M&C Report has learnt.

The latest Burger & Cocktails, on the corner of North Street and Jubilee Street in Brighton, follows conversions of Giraffe sites at St James Street in central London and Castleford, West Yorkshire.

Andrew Jacobs, managing director of Giraffe, said: “Brighton has just opened and is doing really well, we’ve had some excellent customer feedback on the dishes and the look and feel of the place.

“There are no current plans to open more Burger & Cocktails this year, however should the right site become available we would take a look.”

Giraffe co-founder and then managing director Russel Joffe told M&C Report in August last year that Burger & Cocktails is likely to be considered for locating in smaller Tesco stores and in areas better suited to shorter meal occasions.

The tagline for Burger & Cocktails is “laid back burger joints with awesome food, music and cocktails”.

In addition to a choice of around 15 burgers, the menu features items such as hot dogs, southern fried chicken “Schnitzel”, mac ’n’ cheese wheels, salads and kids meal section. The drinks selection includes alcoholic “hard” shakes, cocktails and a beer list that features craft beers such as Brookyn Lager and Flying Dog.
