Giraffe, the Risk Capital Partners-backed restaurant group, has today opened its first international site in Dubai. The chain, which last year signed a franchise agreement with Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) to bring its restaurants to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has opened its first site under the agreement at the new Terminal 3 building at Dubai Airport. It is thought that opening will be the first of a number on the region for the chain, which is also believed to be looking at franchise opportunities in India and the Far East. ELR, a subsidiary of the high profile Emirates Group, owns and operates a wide-ranging portfolio of restaurants, cafés and bars in the Gulf Cooperative Council countries, Australia and beyond. The group currently operates c45 sites across the UK, including 24 original Giraffes outside London, 16 in the capital.
