Giraffe, the Tesco-owned restaurant concept, has closed two of its sites in London after a review of its estate.
The company, which operates 16 sites in the capital, has sold its in Islington to BrewDog and closed its site in Blandford Street.
The group, which operates 55 sites in total in the UK and two in Dubai, said it still plans to open 10 more sites in shopping centres, retail parks and high street locations this year.
A Giraffe spokesperson said: “We regularly review our estate and following an assessment of giraffe Marylebone and Islington, we have decided to close these sites. We’ll be offering colleagues working in these restaurants the opportunity to move into new positions in our other restaurants and work closely with them through the transition. We continue to expand and invest in the brand and will look to open 10 more giraffe’s in shopping centres, retail parks and high street locations this year.”
The group is currently looking for a new chief executive after the announcement that founders Russel and Juliette Joffe were standing down from the business.
