High-profile chef Gino D’Acampo will open the first site under his new fast-casual dining concept, The Pasta Bar, in London’s Fleet Street this month, as he looks to grow a chain of up to 30 units under the brand across the country over the next four years, M&C Report understands.

D’Acampo has teamed up with entrepreneur Derick Martin, who coordinated the management buy-in of the Three Cooks Bakery business, to launch the venture, which is initially looking to raise £250k through an EIS.

A second opening is lined up for this summer and the group is targeting the launch of six sites over the next 12 months.

The business has secured 40-43 Fleet Street for its first opening.

M&C Report revealed last November that D’Acampo had appointed Davis Coffer Lyons to seek sites in the West End and the City for the brand, which he hopes to expand through an A1 grab and go format and a larger 1,500-2,000sq ft A3 concept.

It is thought that the concept will allow consumers to choose their own pasta, sauce and toppings.
