Giggling Squid, the fast growing Thai restaurant group, has secured a site in Chichester, West Sussex, which is anticipated to open in March as its third planned opening for 2015, M&C Report has learnt.

The site in the town centre is a former shop and will need full refurbishment before becoming the group’s 13th restaurant.

It will follow restaurants in Bristol and Salisbury, which are due to open early next year.

The group currently operates sites across the southeast in in Brighton, Hove, Crawley, Tunbridge Wells, Henley-on-Thames, Reigate, Stratford-upon-Avon, Marlow, Horsham and Sevenoaks.

Earlier this year the operator moved its banking to from HSBC to Barclays to increase its borrowing facility to £2m, which Andrew Laurillard, who leads the group, said the move from doubles its previous borrowing power.

Meanwhile, the original restaurant site in Hove, East Sussex, re-opens today after being closed for several months due to extensive flood damage. The restaurant has a less rustic look than before with grey walls, exposed brickwork and driftwood on the walls and light fixtures.

The newly re-opened Hove restaurant will offer take away.
